Looks like a good potential marketing niche. Who pockets the proceeds from this anyway?

It's a benefit fundraiser for Atheists United, a non-prophet and a non-profit organization.

(But most of the proceeds go to Les Freres Taix for the food and facilities.)

The new URL to Doherty's website:

http://jesuspuzzle.humanists.net
or http://reason4.us/~jesuspuzzle

So, who is going to represent us?

I will be there (actually my alter ego will be there.) There is also a smaller gathering the next day which will focus on his books.

Do you have any questions you want me to ask?

1. He appears camera-phobic. Get us his photo.

2. He seems to have made quite a name for himself with The Jesus Puzzle (1999), whose Amazon Ranking is 15,191, compared to, for example to Crossan's The Birth of Christianity, (1999), whose ranking is 35,915 ,yet he seems to spend more time on rationalism and atheism rather than NT scholarship.
What are his plans for the Jesus Myth theory - any upcoming book?

3. What future trends does he 'see' taking place in NT Scholarship wrt the Jesus Myth theory - especially given the favourable reviews from Price and Doughty? Will the scholars keep their collective backs turned except for a few?

So, you are expecting him to prophesy?

Yes, yes. Absolutely! I mean, if he can reach back. Way back. Way, way back into the first century and see that there was no HJ, then hell, telling us about how the landscape in NT scholarship will shift in the next decade or so should be a piece of cake.

I would be interested in whether he is still planning on following Carrier's suggestions on how to create a "scholar's version" of his thesis.

10-4 on that. I scoured the web and couldn’t find an image of Earl Doherty. But, Vive la Difference. Lee Strobel’s picture is there for all the world, on the back flap of The Case for a Creator.

Well you still haven't. It's a totally stupid theory. All the dressing up in the world can't make it a good theiry because it's not. Its' dubm, his evidence is wrong, he's dishonest, everything is taken out of context or spun to make it seem that it fits. It's idiotic and he is not a good scholar.

Really I was angry, I didn't say anything to my fellow christians, but I really wanted to debate him three years ago when Nomad did. Brian is a good guy, but I would have torne that self appointed arrogant peusdo scholar to peices. The guy is not a scholar and his theory is not good.

Set up a debate and I'll prove it!
