Default Lemche Article on Tel Dan "house of David" inscription

A great article on Tel Dan with pictures, that reviews the current state of scholarship, by Lemche, the prominent minimalist.

When the PDF first opened, I said "26 pages? Fuck that." But I read it all. Didn't take but 5 minutes. Lots of photos and illustrations. Not a lot of text.
Basically, he says that there is a possibility that it is a forgery, but even if it isn't it doesn't matter because it doesn't translate to a historical David.
That's pretty much the mainstream scholarly view any way, isn't it? I thought that the true believers were the only ones holding it up as proof that the bible is true(he sort of addresses this in the paper). That means people who really don't know what the fuck they are talking about.

Actually, a lot of people in academia lean towards its geniuneness. Lemche is gently providing a little disincliner. Still, the rocks aren't going to be given access to, so no scrutiny like the Jehoash inscription and James ossuary fakes.
