Bahnsen Burner has an interesting (to me , at least) review of the Carr-Cole debate on the resurrection of Jesus at

He makes the point that many Christians today experience Jesus without seeing a physical body.

So there is no need to assume that the list of appearances in 1 Corinthians 15 refer to a physical sighting.
