Default Going to "Bible Studies."

I'm going to be moving to the country with my wife soon. So, I'm toying with the idea of leaving with a bang. Perhaps I should go to her bible studies group?

Why? So that I can cause as much havock as possible.

What kind of questions can I raise that are going to drive them nuts? Things they aren't likely to have heard before?

I was thinking of raising the concept of omnipotence, and all that entails.

Any ideas would be much apppreciated.

I might try and suss out whether they're exploring a particular passage..

TIA

It's likely all this will accomplish is your being invited not to attend anymore.... just ask HelenM!

I guess it depends on how I conduct myself. If I act like a tool I'm sure things will go horribly awry. But if I behave myself, am respectful and am polite, what's wrong?

Furthermore, at the centre of this, is the fact I'm leaving town soon. So if I've overestimated their tolerance of the views and beliefs of others, it's not my problem.

I actually get along with these people outside their supernatural studies. It should be fun and a learning experience for us all!

Furthermore, they keep inviting me!

Incidentally, I have been extremely surprised and dissapointed by the responses I've had to this thread so far.

Ask to talk about Matthew 7:21-23. I find that an interesting little passage.

Now, granted I don't know or wife from Adam (irony aside...lol) If you wish to retain the name of husband, iwould advise against it--my gf is a Xian and the two times i've gone to her bible study, i have spent the entire time defending my views against 12 very angry xians who thought I was the one attacking them and Their religious doctrine.

Don't Do It--they won't care about what you have to say--they will just ignore your arguments and attack you personally

Perhaps,

I'll think about it..

I'm purusing the Library on this site. There's sooo much to bring up.

I'm pretty sure that they won't do their nuts and start attacking me personally. As long as I don't act like a bigot....

Just like anything, if I treat them with respect, I should get the same in return.. As I've said, I know these people, they're nice enough..

Maybe I should just leave it at that..

But where is the fun in that????

My advice would be to leave in peace.

If you're really intent on raising something prickly, you could use the references in this thread and initiate a discussion about Christmas trees. It's fitting to the season and it isn't a jab at their faith, but at a pagan tradition which has been Christianized.
