I am not aware of any such verse. It is always risky, however, to say what does not exist, so I'll move this to the Biblical Criticism & History forum; in case anyone there is aware of such a verse, s/he can respond.

I think there is one where he hid from his enemies. I know the apostle Paul fled from his enemies in Damascus using a basket.

Try John 12:36.

Usually people who "hide" are "fleeing".

The King James Version stated in Matthew 12:15 that Jesus "withdrew" after learning of a plot by the Pharisees to whack him.

Mark 3:7 may also hint at a strategic retreat as well.

thomas paine argues that for judas to have betrayed jesus' location, he must have been hiding.

IIRC, somewhere in John it says that Jesus fled to avoid being stoned. I'm not sure though.

John 8:57-59:

Quote:
Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham?

Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.

Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.

I dont no, why you ask this question As it is cited here already from Marc: “And the Pharisees went forth, and straightway took counsel with the Herodians against him, how they might destroy him. But Jesus withdrew himself with his disciples to the sea..." this seems very clever; but before you do make a false conclusion, please take his claim from John into account: “My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight , that I should not be delivered to the Jews : but now is my kingdom not from hence.

P.S. Maybe Yuri can give some further reference from THE MAGDALENE GOSPEL 80:1 "Now, as Jesus was across the river Jordan in hiding , it came to pass that one of his friends, by the name of Lazarus, who was the brother of Martha, and of Mary Magdalene, beloved especially by Jesus, was lying sick and anguishing in Bethany, a mile from Jerusalem."

Default hello

In prey to anguish, it prayed more insistently, and his sweat devint as blood grumeaux, that fell to earth. " (Luc 22: 44)

The prayer being a question of the just one has a big effectiveness. " (Jacques 5: 16).

This is him, that in the days of his flesh, offers vociferously and with tears, prayers and supplications to the one that could save them death. Having been granted because of his piety it learned. " (Hebrews 5: 7

Osaia 6:6 For love piety and no the sacrifices, And the knowledge of God more than the holocausts.

psalm 22:9 Recommend You to lçÉternel! LçÉternel will save it, It will deliver it, for likes it!

bye !!!

So I guess he was just "saving himself" for the ultimate pain of the crucifixion.
