Default Questions about the Exodus

I have to think the Exodus was as much of a crock as was the Ark. First off, I would assume that any Egyptian "slaves" came from all over. Not just one tribe of pre-Jews. Second, if God performed all these wrathful miracles against the Egyptians, why didn't the Egyptians embrace Him right afterwards. Why did it take Moses to go to the Mountain after the plague to turn his flock into monotheists as well? Just doesn't make sense.

That is just the tip of the iceberg. There is also the addition of cultural exchange between the two, one would think there would be some. Also the lack archeological evidence of a group of people wandering through the desert for 40 years... they would leave some imprint on the land.

It is more likely that it was added to create a great and noble past for a powerless group.

I heard a theory, based on pure conjecture, that the exodus story might have been based, loosely perhaps, on the the followers of Akhenaten getting the hell out of Egypt after he died and his brand of monotheism was no longer in vogue.

I know of no evidence for such a thing, but it does have a certain appeal to my imagination.

Funny, I was just reading about this the other night. I can't vouche for how reliable the site is, but I have heard generally the same thing from other sources.

Basically the whole thing can be summed up into one sentence. There's not one damn bit of evidence that anything even close to resembling that the things in Exodus ever happened.

This makes a bit of sense, actually. I allways thought the real Moses was a one of Akhenaten's relatives and one of his monotheistic high preists. When the Old Polytheism became reestablished, Moses and other monothests left and converted people in what is now Jordan. The converted people, infused with convert zeal, then invaded Palestine

Nope. Never happened. There was no Exodus of monotheists or invasion of Palestine .And even if there was tying it to Akhenaten would need evidence.
