The author's first premise that even the perception of Jesus by readers as unmarried is absurd in the first place. This person needs to do more research into the role of Mary Magdelen in the scriptures. Why do they share so many intimate moments, especially physically? Why would the Mary-mother figure go to Jesus at a wedding and tell him the wine has run out unless somehow he was running the show and it was his responsibility? I mean, c'mon, it's not hard. The guy is depicted as a Good-Jewish-boy. As if he wouldn't be married...

a. There is no evidence Jesus was heterosexual.
b. Jesus was not married and usurped traditional values by not doing so.
c. Jesus' sexual orientation is an open question.

Vinnie
So what, in order to be an unmarried man without a sexual history I now have to declare I am heterosexual to avoid being called homosexual 2000 years from now? Apart from that, Christ called himself the Son of God, and I believe that all can agree with that(statement not its truth, whole nother issue). God clearly condemned homosexuality in several places in the OT, so would it not be a paradox for his son to be one? Even if you are not a believer, wouldn't you agree that Christ would have done everything in his power to present an image in line with God so that he would be believable? Secondly, we are told that Christ was a rabbi, a teacher with a large following. Christ was around his followers in some form or another constantly, and if he was homosexual they would have noticed. This would have proven him not to be God, yet none of them ever make a statement to that effect.

Vinnie,

I can’t believe you wrote all that. What’s worse is…I can’t believe I read all that.
And what’s even worse than that is that you actually got people trying to debate with you about it.

You atheist types are such hypocrites. Anytime a theists says something they believe, atheist say, “but it doesn’t say that. But when they pull some cockeyed crap out of their hat to ask a question as absurd as “was Jesus gay? they want to twist stuff every which way they can.

And even still you have others thinking he was married.

“But…but…his mom told him they were out of wine at a wedding. It had to be his wedding. “Well…well…he was Jewish, and most Jewish are married. “But, Mary Magdelen hung around him a lot. She must have been his girl.

Puullleeeassee.

I swear, you atheists will do anything to pervert the truth. And you wonder why you are despised by most of society.

Last I heard, Vinnie was NOT an atheist.

The Official Atheist Handbook takes no position on Jesus' sexuality.

edited to add in bolder letters:

VINNIE IS NOT AN ATHEIST. You can't blame this thread on atheism.

You mean there is an official atheist handbook? So it has become a religion...thats incedible.

Sorry about that last post, it just kind of steamed me a little. My brother tried to stop me.

I guess Vinnie is so infatuated with the idea, because he himself may be gay. I wasn't thinking of that. My appologies.

Thats my fault they think he was married?

Since we are offering absurd stereotypes, Did I behead Nick Berg as well? Oh wait, that was done by theists in the name of God.

You engage in blind hot-headed reactionism here. Keep fighting your holy war for God. Trample on whom you will.

I agree with you completely. Although I find it ironic that atheism is a religion, because atheism denies that there is a single fundamental truth for a religion to be centered upon except the fact that there is no truth. Odd.

"""""You mean there is an official atheist handbook? So it has become a religion...thats incedible. """""""

So if a YMCA has a handbook its a religion?

Schools have student handbooks. Oh the hooror *gasp*. Do these religious institutions break the separation of church and state

I don't expect the author of such illogical statements to be able to rationally evaluate my arguments. Holy anger is all ye doth obtain, amigo.
