Jews who brought Plato and Aristotle to the backwards Christendom of the Middle Ages
This was written by a Chabad rabbi, Tvi Freeman, who is Chabad's secular expert.
On researching this he seems to be talking about Pseudo-Aristotle . Arabs and Jews were major players in this area. There seems to be an extensive literature on this, much of it dealing with magic (as well as the medicine/theology noted in wiki). http://www.jewishencyclopedia.com/vi...arch=aristotle My impression is that the rabbi made an embarrassing mistake by bringing this up which would explain my reply not being published, but perhaps it was my abrasive personality. Could the rabbi have been referring to something else? I can't find the slightest hint of what this could be. Thanks for any insighst. |
