John gospel question; "In the beginning" who (diegetical said this? John the Baptist?
I have seen many people, when asked where Jesus claimed to be the same entity as Yahweh, reference the prologue to the Gospel of John "In the Beginning was the word..."
However, the Gospel of John does not present this as a saying of Jesus. It seem unclear who said it. I had though maybe John the Baptist (diagetically) said it, because he appears in the next paragraph. |
