Slavery Poll
I made this thread just so I could create a poll. I am curious to see if most people view the slavery defined in the bible to be the same as the slavery implemented in the early stages of America.

Slavery is slavery.
Trust me, to the slave, it's all the same. |

I'm just curious as to what types of results you are trying to get. If possible you may want to alter the poll to reflect a better/same/worse sort of thing. Because I could answer that it was different, but think the situation was worse or better in biblical times.
Beside my brief opening comments, I agree with Yahzi. Dave |

I agree with Yahzi.
In any place and at any time, only the master will call himself a “Good Master. Fearing punishment if she doesn't grovel, the slave might say the words, but in her heart, she will never call him “good. |

There might be certain differences, but the bottom line is one person (or group) being involuntarily held subservient to another. Modern society says that is immoral and wrong, but the bible says its okay.
