Default no other prophets prophecied...(sp?)

I was talking religion with my very devout christian friend. I'm very tired, nightshift and its 6am now lol...

One point I had to concede to him purely on the basis of me having no knowledge to the contrary...

We were talking about diff religions, and I was bringing up how all religions are just retellings of old stories from earlier religions and themes in human mythology. He said, "Yes, but were those other religious people prophecied and fufilled as Jesus was?". I replied, "I'm not sure, I haven't investigate that too much."

I guess I could have asked about the prophecies about Jesus, as I know some of them are incorrect when applied to jesus (especially according to many jews).

Any other tips/knowledge?

Well first of all, I would point out to him some of the "prophecies" the gospels claim Jesus fulfilled, that in actuality weren't even prophetic. The big problem with this is that none of these claims are verifiable outside of the gospels themselves. One can hardly say that the gospels were unbiased historical accounts; in fact they were written more for the purpose of proselytization than anything else. So in all likelihood the claims about Jesus fulfilling OT prophecies were either invented, or exaggerated, in order to substantiate the fledgling religion.
