Default Tidying up Jesus

I was brought up with a "Flash Gordon, saviour of the universe" Jesus.

Virgin birth, water into wine, feeding five thousand, raising Lazarus, walking on water, making blind see, healing sick, death, resurrection, ascension, fiddling around with snakes, horsemen of the apocalypse, Alpha and Omega. All happened.

At various points I have come across theologians trying to give Jesus a hair cut and suit - miracles don't happen (but catholics say they do..). Same thing happened with Red Sea for example - it was really shallows in the Reed Sea.

This is why I am a mythicist. Why dump the miracles when they are quite reasonable in the imagination?

(I forgot the bits from the out takes - killing off kids who bump into him, turning clay sparrows into real ones).
