It's apparent you don't know the meaning of the words you're misusing.

Sorry.
And sorry to Robert Price. I hope he gets well. A mate of mine was severly ill with shingles recently, it aint a joke.
I agree it's bizarre how a sensible public policy like a single-payer healthcare system like those of other modern nations is treated by demagogues here in the USA as if it were a Soviet invasion.

I guess 20,000 needless deaths due to the inefficiencies of our backwards system is a fair price to pay so some capitalists can take their profits.

I've had Shingles. It's not that big a deal. It's uncomfortable, but not debilitating. It's certainly not life threatening. I didn't spend a day in the hospital.

If he is actually hospitalized, then I think it has to be something worse than Shingles.

CDC is the gold standard

Take a look at figure 2, Ramsey Hunt syndrome, one of the most uncommon post herpetic neuralgia's:

tinnitus, and loss of taste. Many patients do not recover completely.
I have had it. It is bad, and very painful. But, most of the time, it is relatively benign, without permanent sequelae.

Vaccines may help the elderly.

Pox virus
Based on my own personal experience, x3, I would disagree. It is very painful, but I survived without requirement for any medication.

I think the notion that he needs money to treat this disease is inaccurate. He may indeed need funds, who doesn't?

My daughter has had shingles twice, and I concur with your assessment.

I think the pain can be excruciating for some, not for others. I had it when I was in my 30s and it wasn't too bad, but my grandfather had it and it was quite painful. Just this last year of so there was a TV commercial featuring a man telling the audience how incredibly painful it was for him and is for others.

What is this thread doing in BC&H, Stephan? The last one was obviously PD from the getgo and was rightly moved there.

I sympathize with Price's difficulty, but surely this ought to have been placed in The Lounge or Misc. or maybe even Support Fireside, if only because it might attract the attention of more people inclined to help. If you wanted to have a conversation about Price's politics again... did you not see the previous thread move?

There's really no rational way that threads about the personal beliefs and problems of individual Biblical Critics and Historians belong in Biblical Criticism and History.

What indeed. The OP contains six personal pronouns, so it may possibly be about stephan. One is left to decide whether stephan is a saint, an angel or even God himself.

You can put me down for that he is God Himself. Now, Stephan, what are You going to do about this "Indian Summer" that keeps happening year after year in my area?

There are often BCH posts about prominent figures in the field.

Obituaries, book releases, debates, lectures etc.

I think the issue is more the direction the threads take. Certainly that was the case with the last Price thread.
