Default Robert Price Needs Money for His [Illness]

I find difficult not to reference the irony of Bob's voting preferences. Apparently this is not a lesson in the value of 'socialized medicine.' Nevertheless as being charitable is a virtue I should mention that I received this information today:

Quote:
Dr. Price is in a very bad way, health-wise, right now. Any cash that anyone can spare would go along way to help. I know it also pains him to ask himself, so I'm asking for him. The easiest way is to send any donation you can via PayPal directly to: criticus@aol.com. Thanks for your generosity in advance.

Naturally, Bob is too polite to ask for himself, so his friends, fans and supporters have taken it upon ourselves, with his retrospective blessing/appreciation, to put out this call. His illness is not life-threatening, but it is very painful and debilitating. Dr. Price is bedridden, and the bills are mounting.

I will send some money. I consider him a friend even if I find his voting choices perplexing.

Naturally, if there was a civilized healthcare system in the USA Price wouldn't have to beg for money from strangers simply because by chance he became ill.

Perhaps he should stick to his principles and simply go out in the street to die since he can't afford to pay for his own healthcare...

Shingles is not minor. The drugs that treat it cost money, and takes a few weeks out of your life at the least.

Tell him to migrate to Australia, we have 'communist' style national health here, have had for decades.
Just to give you an idea of how it works, we pay for it out of our taxes [at a far lower rate than per cpita cost in the US] and then go hospital as we need to.
For example I had major surgery a few years ago that cost me nothing. Not a cent.
My daughter had her daughter at a public hospital, all mod cons, not a cent.
Australians shake their heads in disbelief when we hear about all the fuss and bother over public health in the US.

Pox virus
Based on my own personal experience, x3, I would disagree. It is very painful, but I survived without requirement for any medication.

I think the notion that he needs money to treat this disease is inaccurate. He may indeed need funds, who doesn't?

Yep, we pinched the idea from the Motherland yonks ago and have managed to keep it despite some right wing govts looking askance at the plebs getting first rate treatment at minimal fuss and cost.

That's the whole embarrassing point, of course. Republicans must be either rich or lucky.

Maybe Bob is reviewing the situation.
