PEANUT GALLERY: Chris Weimer & Peter Kirby on Christian origins
This thread has been set up to provide a Peanut Gallery for a FORMAL DISCUSSION between Chris Weimer and Peter Kirby who will explore the following question:
"What is the evidence concerning Christian origins and the earliest Christian traditions?" The discussion, which will use a special format, will have 10 rounds and Chris Weimer will go first. We ask that the formal discussion participants refrain from posting in the Peanut Gallery until after the discussion is over. Enjoy the discussion! - NS, FD Moderator |

This is going to be a long debate. My debate with Clift that got cut short kept us busy for months. At the same time, a lot of that was due to us never meeting the deadlines, heh.
I've read Kirby's stuff. He's impressive. I don't know what Weimer has going for him. What credentials does he have, if any? |

Regretfully, I have to announce that the formal discussion has been cancelled. I should acknowledge that I, as the moderator, take some responsibility in this. In the FDP forum Chris and Peter decided on a start date that was more than a month in the future. Circumstances can change significantly after a month and I should have asked for the parameters to be re-confirmed as the start date approached. I will take precautions to prevent situations like this from happening in the future.

Sorry guys, both Peter and I had to call it quits on this one...for now. Hopefully once things get settled down (I'm moving across the state) we can resume... Sorry everyone.

That's too bad. I was looking forward to this one.
