Default Some similar things I noticed...

This is Horus. He is the Egyptian God of the Sun, the personification of an owl. Every day he was killed by Set, bringing evil night, and every night he rose from the dead and killed Set to bring forth day. In fact, the term 'HORIZON' is an anagram for 'HORUS HAS RISEN'. Even the word 'HOURS' can be switched around to form 'HORUS'. Naturally, 'SUNSET' is the killing of Horus by Set. Dark vs Light, or Good vs Evil is one of the classic stories, from fairy tales to the Bible. The story of Horus is as follows:

Horus was born on December 25th, of the virgin Isis. His birth was followed by a star in the east, which 3 Kings followed to adorn him. At the age of 12 he was a prodigy child teacher, at the age of 30 he was baptized and began a ministry. Horus has 12 disciples, which followed him everywhere as he preformed miracles, such as healing the sick, giving sight to the blind. and walking on water. He was known by many names 'The Truth, the Light, Lord' being some. After being betrayed, Horus was crucified and buried for three days until he was Ressurected.

Remind you of somebody? Oh, but there is more.

Say hello to Attis. He was born of a virgin on December 25th, was crucified, and dead for three days until ressurected.

Lord Krishna of India, born of the virgin Devaki on December 25th, brought to birth with a star in the east. He performed miracles, until crucified, and in turn, ressurected.

Dionysus of Greece, born of a virgin on December 25th. He performed miracles, and reffered to as the 'King of Kings' 'The Alpha and the Omega' until he was crucified and ressurected.

Mithra, of Persia. Born of a virgin on Decmeber 25th, had 12 Disciples, performed miracles, was dead for three days and in turn, ressurected. Another interesting thing is that her followers worshipped her on Sunday.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Why all this? Did you notice Christianity follows many of these deemed 'heathen' religions? Almost as if they copied each other? Since Christianity in particular is the youngest of these, they must have made the entire thing up.

On December 24th, the stars begin to gather in a formation, until on December 25th, three stars (three kings) go to the brightest star, Sirius (The Lord). The formation they make?

A cross.

:boohoo:

*sigh*

These ideas are so popular, and have such pretty pictures. There is even most likely a germ of truth underneath.

But Atheist Forever, you didn't notice these facts. Someone pointed them out to you, based on what someone told them. But not all of these facts are facts, and repeating them does not further the cause of atheism.

There are much better arguments against Christianity.

But stick around.

My point is that Christianity, and many religions, feed off of many of the same ideas. Things like these make religion seem more and more like a story.

Some people like this idea. Some people think that it discredits Christianity; some people don't, and think that it shows that all religions are part of the same archtype. Some people prefer a good story to stupid facts.

The problem is that when you claim certain things about Horus that are not supported by real data, it discredits you and your arguments on anything else.

We've done this topic to death and beyond on this forum, so please forgive us if no one is jumping into this. You might want to search the forum for Horus or Mithras and see what has come before you.
