Historical Maps
Where can I get some good historical maps showing the names of towns etc during the various iron ages, bronze ages and Greeko-Roman times of the Middle Eastern area. I often find that when I'm reading books regarding these time periods that I like to reference a map when they mention an important historical place.
I've seen some good Biblical maps but I'm unsure as to how historically accurate they are. Any help would be appreciated. Regards, |

Here are two places to start:
http://www.ntgateway.com/maps.htm - contains links to a number of university sites. http://www.bible-history.com/geograp...pful_maps.html I don't know how you would judge the accuracy of these maps. |

Penguin Atlas of Ancient History (or via: amazon.co.uk) I suspect that googling Amazon might be a place to start. CC |

I always recommend Colin McEvedy's Penguin Atlas of Ancient History and the corresponding Atlas of Medieval History to get places into perspective. However it looks as if you will want more detail, once you have the overview.
