Micah 5:2 says: "But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting." Obviously, Jesus did not become ruler in Israel. If Micah had predicted that the messiah would rule a heavenly kingdom instead of an earthly kingdom like Micah misled the Jews to believe, and had predicted that the messiah would heal people, that the messiah would be crucified, buried, and rise from the dead in three days, that Pontius Pilate would become the Roman governor of Palestine, and that Herod would become the King of Judea, surely lots more Jews have believed that Jesus was the messiah. Why do you suppose that the vast majority of Jews have always rejected Jesus? If fact, prophecy is one of the greatest proofs that the God of the Bible does not exist. No loving, rational God would ever make any disputable prophecies when he could easily make 100% indisputable prophecies. If you had been taken as a baby and had been raised by Muslim parents in Iran, you would probably reject Bible prophecy today. If that had happened, why would that have been the case? Wouldn't you still have wanted to know what the truth is under those conditions? Under those conditions, you would have demanded evidence that the Bible is true, and you would have rejected the same evidence that you accept now. Is wanting to know the truth the most important factor regarding finding the truth, or what worldview a person's parents have, and where a person lives? Is it your position that God is not able to provide addition evidence that would convince more people to love and accept him, or that he is not willing to do so? |
