Default Who moved the stone?

How did Jesus get out of his tomb , and why did the soldiers not see him leave the tomb?

Whose clothes was he wearing when he appeared to Mary Magdalene?

Angels, I believe, are credited with knocking the soldiers out...or, I think, scaring them away...and rolling away the stone. Check your KJV.

And who said Jesus was wearing any clothes

If the birthday suit was good enough for pre-apple Adam and Eve....

Well, he made a toga from The Shroud, of course. But he miraculously didn't smudge the picture.

He was big on pictures. That's why he made everyone scooch over to the same side of the table.

Given that Jesus' risen form was capable of walking through locked doors, the stone was apparently moved solely so that the emptiness of the tomb could be witnessed. If all we had were claims of seeing the risen Jesus walking around, skeptical types might brush them off as delusions. The empty tomb confirms that something happened. Angels seems to be the prime suspects either by directly pushing or indirectly via an earthquake.

The soldiers didn't see Jesus either because he can turn invisible or they were focused on preventing people from entering the tomb rather than preventing an escape. Thus, they were dutifully facing outward and he just slipped by them to hide among the tombs.

The whole production is rather like a Vegas act. We are shown the body being placed in the "cage" and we are shown that the door is impregnable. Then we are shown the empty "cage" followed by the sudden appearance of the disappeared individual. Ta dah!

But Jesus was no longer there. Check Matthew who is the only one with soldiers. Jesus had already gone.

That clears this up! Copperfield (House of David) is the risen Messiah!

As Jesus was leaving the tomb, one of the soldiers noticed and called out:

Jesus Christ, close the fu**ing door. Were you born in a manger or something?

Interesting thought. Especially when you consider that "feet" is used in the OT as a euphemism for ... uh, certain other body-parts, and the women in Mat 28:9 "clasp his feet" and "pay him homage"...

Is the title of a very popular fundy book from the late 60s - I know - I was a University Christian Union book rep.

Very detailed discussion of all of the accounts in the gospels purporting to prove the truth of the resurrection.

Strange that my views now tend towards Jesus being a myth, so are we discussing alternate ends in novels?
