How fast are we reading? The amazon book is searchable which means, ultimately it can be read online. I'll start following along with the group using the online book and see if I learn anything//find it interesting. I might not participate much since I don't know a lick of Greek but maybe I can pick something up. If in the beginning I do I'll then order a copy of the book.

I want to go slow enough so that most people follow along without being overwhelmed and so that most people follow along without getting bored. Since the chapters are short (often under ten pages), doing one every three days or so would make sense (depending, of course, on the difficulty of the chapter and amount of discussion about it).

I have signed up over at Ebla and typed in an introduction in the 'Hi, I'm Peter...' thread. It should be fun.

I took 3 semesters of greek in college, but I've already forgotten most of it. I would definitely lurk (with the occasional post perhaps).

<voice over the intercom>: We are now accepting registration for the summer session...
...and I would like to know where you would like to have it. It will be based on the "Basics of Biblical Greek Grammar" book and will begin in early June. I hope that this will allow more people to participate, and I am sure that it will be interesting, as this book gets into the real meat and potatoes of Greek. If all goes well, we may move on to a book on intermediate Greek later in the year. In order to vote on where to have the study (note that I am -not- talking about the idea floated a while back on messing with IIDB's fine forum structure ), please go to Ebla and choose your pick: Vote on where to hold the "Basics of Biblical Greek Grammar" seminar Thanks for your attention. best, Peter Kirby |
