Default Discussions of the Qur'an are part of BCH split from moderate muslims

I would like to hear an argument supporting this claim using quotations from the Quran only.

I agree that a good muslim in the eyes of non-muslim people is a bad muslim in the eyes of a sunni/shia people, I think that's because the mainstream Islam relies too much on the hadith and sunna . That's why I want to see quotes from the Quran.
What does this have to do with BC&H?

Nothing unless folks start quoting from the text as a basis for their arguments.

Even then, what would it have to do with Biblical criticism?

Because it would be a textually based discussion of an Abrahamic book, its interpretation and its implication for mankind's world view?

While the Bible is an "Abrahamic" book, not all "Abrahamic" books are the Bible (the Hebrew Sciptures and the NT). So I fail to see how even exegetical and hermeneutical questions about the Koran -- as interesting as they may be in their own right -- let alone questions about what constitutes faithfulness to Islam, are on topic in this forum.

Pardon me, perhaps I am misinterpreting the stated purpose of this forum which is,

Quote:
Textual and historical discussions of Abrahamic holy books (Bible, Talmud, Qu'ran) to challenge and illuminate the stories therein.
If so, I stand corrected. However, I will not desist from participating in this discussion with those who care until it is moved elsewhere or advised otherwise by a moderator.

Jeffrey Gibson is mistaken. BCH is just shorthand, and too difficult to change; this forum has always included textual discussions of the Abrahamic religions.

Carry on.

Nice of you to say so. But given the truth of what Toto says, in this instance I am indeed mistaken. I was, however, unaware that the purview of BCH went beyond the Bible.

Am I the only one?
