For theist's to answer!
If God answers the prayers of all who ask, according to John, then why doesn't God answer the prayers of amputees?
(15:7, 16) "Ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you." |

I don't think he does answer all prayers.
I'm not penciling the Uncanny X-Men and living in a french villa with George Clooney as my, ahem, manservant after all. |

Person A prays that one sports team will win. Person B prays that the opposite sports team will win. Will they both tie? Or will one lose, and one win? But wait, God answers every prayer!
If we ask for world peace, is that too much for God to handle??? |

John15:5 "I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. 6 If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. 7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you* will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. 8 By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples. What would an amputee, abiding in Christ, ask for? |

Let me ask you now, would you believe in a God that was nothing but a spiritual shopping cart giving you all the cookies your little tummy can handle with no recipricating faith, love, trust, or obedience? |

I swear my response is true!!!!!!
I had this same question a couple of months ago....so I e-mailed a former co-worker christian friend of mine. I asked him if praying worked. He said "of course". So i asked him why no amputee has ever been healed? He responded that "they serve a greater purpose by their inspiration...blah...blah...god's greater plan...blah...blah". Ok..no problem...I let it drop. Now the part that sounds unreal!! I guess he needed help with this after he thought about it for the last couple of months and it apeears he forwarded my e-mails to his pastor for help. So I get a e-mail today from my friend with attached e-mail response from his pastors' wife. She says that "people that have a closed minds may never be able to understand....and that although such miracles don't happen as much in the US, in third world countries were ministries are stronger the growing of new limbs happens all the time and that there is even an occasional rising of the dead!" RISING OF THE DEAD....GROWING NEW LIMBS??????!!!!!! Are you seriously??? I wrote back to my friend "did you read this e-mail b4 u sent it????" The more I learn about christians....the more I know I am an atheist! <planosuds pulling clumps of hair out> |

And P.S. to the moderators - this isn't preaching, it's answering the question so save me the lecture. You need Jesus,... that's preaching. Seriously, you do,... more preaching. |
