It's almost like we have a similar scenario to C.S. Lewis' "Lord, Lunatic, or Liar" premise, except it's for Paul.
And the choices are - Genuine experience, Sincere but delusional, or Liar. My guess is that Paul believed what he wrote. Except for the part where he was getting everything directly from the risen Christ. And this device was cleverly used because he knew that his teachings would carry no authority otherwise. So - I opt for Liar. |
