Default Pastor Chuck Smith

Can anyone tell me what degrees Pastor Chuck Smith of Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa has? He does extensive commentaries at the blue letter bible site and is repeatedly being cited as a primary source for archaeology, history and geography. My assumption is that he has degrees in Bible studies and/or theology but I have no evidence.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

He went to LIFE Bible College

Quote:
Calvary Chapel pastors need not hold a seminary degree. Pastors who do hold a seminary degree and have some experience in another denomination are considered sufficiently trained. Those who have not previously been pastors in another denomination generally take a two year course of study at a Calvary Chapel Bible College, for which a bachelor's degree is not a prerequisite.
According to the school's latest course catalog, they offer three degrees:

Bachelor of Theology
A second degree program (64 units) for students who have completed a B.A. or B.S. from an accredited college in a field other than Bible, Theology, or Religion (see page 48).

Bachelor of Arts
• Biblical Studies
A four-year degree (128 units) in Biblical Studies with an option for ministry or education minors (see pages 50-67).
• Ministry & Leadership
A degree completion program (120 units) designed for adults with previous education (see pages 68-69).

Associate of Arts
• Biblical Studies A.A.
A two-year program (64 units) in Biblical Studies (see page 70).
• General Studies A.A.
A two-year program (64 units) consisting of the lower division program at Life Pacific College (see page 71).
That's all I could find through Google, I can't find any place where it says exactly what he took.

I found a link indicating he attended Biola University. I'll check further but that might lead you somewhere.

Edit: An interesting link.

I've lost count of how many sites about Pastor Chuck I've read in the last 20 minutes or so. I find it telling that I haven't found a single indication that he has a degree of any kind. While he may indeed hold some sort, it is also worth mentioning that he and Pastor Brian Brodersen aren't listed as having any credentials at the faculty and staff page for the Calvary Chapel Bible College.

Exellent point. I spent a great deal of time reading numerous sites on him and other then saying he "attended" Life Bible College and Biola it never says what degree he earned, if any. Regardless, I looked at the mission statement of these inerrancy based diploma mills and was not impressed. Thank you both for your help.
