Ed Babinski
Does anyone know who this person might be?
The reason that I ask is that he emailed me a load of slightly incoherent second-hand stuff, ostensibly about the fathers and flat-earth, on the basis that I have some of Pliny the Elder online which tends to refute the idea that the ancients believed in such a thing. Naturally I directed him to Bede, who Knows All on such things about the history of science-and-religion, and suggested that this was done to death some time back. He's come back with another dump of other men's words, all about biblical inspiration (about which, it seems, he has thought for himself not at all). Why me? Is he just another godbotherer? Does he read what I write back, or should I just killfile him? Anyone else heard from him? We all know that there is a certain population of net-cranks. I have little time -- I really want to know if he's worth bothering with. All the best, Roger Pearse |

Brief Bio
Ed Babinski on II modern author page Babinski's webpage Babibski is a biologist and an ex-fundamentalist whose primary focus is evolution vs creationism. He is a prolific internet writer on the subject, although his only published work in hard copy is on his deconversion. I don't know why he is picking on you. He's not a crank, but the two of you might not be able to communicate productively. |

As you may imagine, I have nothing special to offer on that (almost exclusively US) controversy. Indeed I don't even know the terms of the debate. I wonder if he realises that I am British? I fear that he ignored what I wrote back in favour of more stock assertions. If so, it will definitely be 'good night.' All the best, Roger Pearse |

I can personally attest to having had productive contact with Ed--he does forward me a fair amount of stuff, but I find it odd that he'd do that to someone who hasn't contact him otherwise.
If necessary I would feel comfortable telling him to knock it off for you. |

Which controversy are you saying is almost exclusively US? Evolution versus creationism? Thanks. Ben. |

Your normal modus operandi is to not bother with those who present anything outside of Orthodox Christianity and your present beliefs. Why change? |
