I give practically everything a chance. I knew this was a long shot, but there are some issues that serious scholars have discussed regarding sexuality in the early church. But it looks like the silly season here.

Well, this original post was sort of done half tongue in cheek but with a sincere motivation. I was reading Michael Martin's "The case against Christianity", specifically about Incarnation and the dual mind theory put forth to accommodate the omniscient and human mind. I was really sort of curious to find out if there were any contradictions present between the way that the bible addresses sexual behaviour and the behaviour of Jesus/God in human form.

Guess I was asking for it, but some of the replies were truly worthwhile!!!

I am not sure what your implication is but, it does appear from the tone of your reply that you may have some personal guilt issues related to sex that might constrain you from thinking about a potentially interesting topic.

This image of the crucifixion by Thomas Eakins seems to suggest that he may have orgasmed on the cross.

Well if you want a sensible answer, or reasonably, I would say that if Jesus was the Son of God the idea was that He must live as human a life as possible ... live as a normal human being, and that means experience the things normal human beings do. Bear in mind too that He did not begin His ministry until the age of 30 or so so what happened to him before that is not known.

Just this agnostic's two cents.

If Jesus actually existed, then I would say yes. All humans are capable of orgasm, so I am guessing that some point he did. Since I do not believe he was divine, my comments should imply that I believe he was completely human.

Well, if he didn't, he was at least tempted to, according to Hebrews 4:15.

Quote:
For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are–yet was without sin.
I suppose he was tempted to every sin known to humanity, according to this verse. Interesting proposition, don't you think? Not that orgasms are sinful, mind you. [sarcasm] As long as you are doing it with your spouse and only for having babies. [/sarcasm]

Silly question!

As a Christian, I can only say: of course he did. If God were to come down and need to experience what it is to be human, He would have to have had sex to understand what we go through. I'm sure he did Mary Magedeline, Judas and possibly Paul and Peter. Implications for Christianity: none.
