I have not enjoyed a thread on this board this much in a long, long time.

Arch, I wish I could shake your hand. You've brought me many smiles and laughs this week.

I have already decided not to debate you.
Wise move.

Don't know how I missed this as I am tired of such insulting bull. It is not rational to live in denial, to dismiss or mis-credit other people's evidence or to insult other people and their beliefs.
I agree with the bolded part.

You are projecting again.

In the OP I mentioned the discussion I'm having with a fundie co-worker. He's not long ago moved from Tennessee and we're a little (not that you'd know sometimes!) further out of the Bible Belt here in Oregon.

It's now turned interesting in that he told me this morning that he has a crisis of faith. I think his problem is that he's not completely blinded by his faith. Using the bible-derived date of Ye Fludde as a tiny wedge into the massive facade of alabaster "godoganda" that is the bible he's now been forced to acknowledge a crack. Woohooo!

So baby steps now. We're going to lunch, see if I can't open a can of the wild and wonderful world of freethought on him.

I think this is relevant. Introduction into freethought isn't a baby step!

it is not difficult, it is a frivolous question, one which you already know the answer.\

How does a flood destroy pottery? Please answer the question and do not assume I know the answer.
Let me help. The flood waters came on so rapidly that they caused massive torrents of water to flow rapidly flooding all civilized areas (which would have been near waterways). These raging flood waters would wisk away and likely pulverize all the pottery into bits so tiny as to be unrecognizable as pottery. That's what would happen if there was a worldwide flood caused by rains that fell for 40 days. Is that a good answer?
Why wasn't the ark then pulverised?

Modern day floods dont have that effect. Also, of course, the water would be RISING, at first, and its awful hard to flood very fast up hill.

What about all the metal and the flint tools, they would get pulverized too?
