The 'what Do You Think Jc Was' Poll
Welcome to the 'what do you think JC, Christianity was all about' poll
please vote and if you like, cite which author, book, argument helped to fashion your current opinion. If you are like me you may think there is several strands to the argument, i.e a basic Jewish apocalyptic cult became a tool/ invention of the empire. In this case vote for the argument that is the earliest. It is just a snap shot to help me look at why one argument may have more weight than any other thanks Jules |

You left out an option for what I think he was too.
- one of many of the many messianic preachers of the time (or a compilation of several of them) that later writers attributed the usual divine characteristics to. (e.g. Nero was claimed to be divine, born of a virgin, and to preform miracles.)- |

PIWA is more popular than I thought. That is my choice.

Probably a PIWA, who happened to be at just the right time and place to become the figurehead of a new world religion.

A composite, part Jewish rebel, part streetcorner messiah, part accreting legends of other gods, and a huge helping of wishful thinking and fiction.
