In the Myth Fable called gMatthew, Jesus gave certain instructions to the "fish catcher". It is the written Jesus story that is being analysed not your imagination.

In the Myth Fables called Gospels, Pilate did NOT even know what Jesus did wrong.

Matthew 27:23 KJV

Mark 15:14 KJV

Luke 23:22 KJV
Quote:
And he said unto them the third time, Why, what evil hath he done ?......
It is the Jesus story that is being analysed NOT what you imagine happened. Try to understand the Jesus story.

jesus did not pay his taxes, you failed in your rebutte to show it.

you then run off in another direction [facepalm]

Again, your claim is erroneous. In the Myth Fable called gMatthew Jesus instructed a character to remove money from the mouth of a fish to pay TAXES for him and the fish catcher.

Matthew 17:27 KJV
Quote:
Notwithstanding, lest we should offend them, go thou to the sea, and cast an hook, and take up the fish that first cometh up ; and when thou hast opened his mouth, thou shalt find a piece of money: that take , and give unto them for me and thee.

I looked around but I couldn't find the punchline to the joke

The best I could find was:

"Why was Jesus crucified?"
"Because if they had electrocuted him, today, 100 million Catholics wouldn't bless themselves with a cross. They would scream "Aaaarrrgggghhh!" and shake."

But seriously. The reason Jesus why there is a story of Jesus' crucification is because Dionysus was such a popular god and a parallel myth would help the new religion with the Gentiles. Plus it gives the new religion a clean break from Judaism, which is Roman times was a pretty lousy religion.

A similar reason can be given for the creation of the Trinity, saints, angels, and the whole host of minor deities in Christianity.. they just fit better with the prevailing polytheism. Remember Judaism was considered 'atheistic' because they only believed in one god... who was invisible.

What else did he say???

The fish catcher was told to pay the money as taxes.

Why can't you repeat the story in the Myth Fables called Gospels???

It is just a story not an historical account.

Again, it is a Myth Fable and that is what the author wrote. Why must a Myth Fable be history???

Jesus, the Son of God, had a purse??? An EMPTY purse!!! Please, please, please the NT Canon is just a compilation of Myth Fables.

In the NT Myth Fables, Jesus was so broke that his disciples PLUCKED corn EVEN on the Sabbath.

Mark 2:23 KJV
Quote:
And it came to pass , that he went through the corn fields on the sabbath day; and his disciples began , as they went , to pluck the ears of corn.

This is how I discover who has been dozing off in my lectures. That's not what I said. Those who were awake remember that Christianity was considered 'atheistic' because Christians had no ritual whatever; and ritual was religion, to all intents and purposes. It was not supposed to affect the way you behaved. Christians soon did not even have the use of synagogues. Meeting in their own homes, they were 'invisible', except by their actions, which were the cause of the spread of the church. The focus of Jews all over the known world, to which for centuries many had made regular visits, was the very visible Jerusalem, the Temple and its apparatus, and the essential High Priest; but these were all removed within a century or so of the birth of Christianity, and the whole Mosaic Law became impossible to keep (less than one third, according to even Jewish estimates). In a very real sense, Jews were religionists, not with an invisible deity, but religionists without a coherent religion; arguably, without any religion worth the name. Christianity, otoh, was not disadvantaged in the least by the end of Judaea; rather, that event confirmed the teaching of Jesus, which added to the credibility of this faith at the expense of Judaism.

Tut, tut. Must try harder.

Celsus made a similar point 1800 years ago:
http://www.earlychristianwritings.co...origen166.html
"And in all their [Christian] writings (is mention made) of the tree of life, and a resurrection of the flesh by means of the 'tree,' because, I imagine, their teacher was nailed to a cross, and was a carpenter by craft; so that if he had chanced to have been cast from a precipice, or thrust into a pit, or suffocated by hanging, or had been a leather-cutter, or stone-cutter, or worker in iron, there would have been (invented) a precipice of life beyond the heavens, or a pit of resurrection, or a cord of immortality, or a blessed stone, or an iron of love, or a sacred leather! Now what old woman would not be ashamed to utter such things in a whisper, even when making stories to lull an infant to sleep?"

'In using such language as this, Celsus appears to me to confuse together matters which he has imperfectly heard. For it seems likely that, even supposing that he had heard a few words traceable to some existing heresy, he did not clearly understand the meaning intended to be conveyed.'

Or understood more clearly than he desired. Either mendacious, or too dull to be worth reading.
