I have heard several posters on this board say we should find proof for things before we believe it. Here is an example:

Ok so how many on this board believe the Bible is not innerrant? Ok those of you who believe that how many believe in Evolution? Those of you who believe both of these let me ask you what proof do you for Evolution? We have never found a single transitional fossil. Every year that passes we make the process of Evolution even longer because it's apprent nothing today is evolving.You claim that Evolution is Science yet there is more proof of an worldwide Biblical flood than there is for evolution. Yet you mock those who hold God's Word as being correct when it speaks on scientific subjects. While God's Word held scientific facts before men and scientest had discovered that specific area.Anyone care to comment?

ISV, please educate yourself about the basics of evolution, found transitional fossils and the fact that the Biblical flood never happened.

This thread will probably be moved to the Evolution/Creation forum. The stickies (and people) there will help you on your journey.

Awww, how dissapointing. I was thinking of making a thread entitled "Why exactly should be believe the miracles" and when I saw this one, I thought it might actually give some good reasoning.

Needless to say, you have managed to type a bullcrap to word ratio of nearly 1 to 1 in your post. Honestly, I think every assertion in your post is not just wrong, but rediculously wrong

Others will correct what you say, I suppose. But I would like to mention....

Lets no go into the fact that we've only been studying it for 150 years and it's thought to take thousands or millions of years so this accusation is just plain wrong. The more interesting news is that I just read a day or two ago a news story reporting that a new salmon has been discovered that greatly shortened the amount of time we think evolution can happen in.

Sorry, no scientific conspiracy to prop up evolution here.

We don't "believe in" evolution. This is a strongly deprecated phrase. It is a fact that life forms have evolved, that is changed, over time. That the mechanism of this change is heritable random variation and natural selection has extremely strong scientific support.

Do not be surprised when your uneducated, ill-informed, and entirely ludicrous assertions are met with flat denial and occasional laughter. It is not our fault that you are lacking in education and information, and it is not our responsibility to provide you with a basic education. The information is available on the web and in any good college freshman level biology textbook.
