Genesis 19:31-36:
31And the firstborn said unto the younger, Our father is old, and there is not a man in the earth to come in unto us after the manner of all the earth:

32Come, let us make our father drink wine, and we will lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father.

33And they made their father drink wine that night: and the firstborn went in, and lay with her father; and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose.

34And it came to pass on the morrow, that the firstborn said unto the younger, Behold, I lay yesternight with my father: let us make him drink wine this night also; and go thou in, and lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father.

35And they made their father drink wine that night also: and the younger arose, and lay with him; and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose.

36Thus were both the daughters of Lot with child by their father.
I'm suddenly all hot and flushed. Hoo-boy them old testament families were some lusty bunch!

No. 'Deconverting' christians is the prime aim of the devil.
Does that make me the devil, or merely his accessory? Truth be told, I've never met the beast, but at least he (she?) didn't slaughter the human race in a flood, or invent smallpox, polio, malaria, tornadoes, earthquakes, or sudden infant death syndrome.

"Have sympathy for the devil; all the books were written by God."

"Turning people off" to Christianity is impossible to do for those of the elect. "Turning people off" to Christianity who are not of the elect was already done LONG ago... In fact, mankind is born spiritually dead in sin, and therfore cannot be "turned off" to anything spiritually because they are already dead.
Do you believe in predestination? This is what you appear to be saying, but I am ready to stand corrected. I'm asking because I thought there were no Calvinists left in the world.

Why?

Don't they all just coward out and say things like this:

But all this really means is that non-Christians have achieved parity. The rescinding of special privileges cannot, in any way, be equated with the removal of basic rights.
Consider the medieval aristocratic class. Would you equate rescinding their special privileges to denying the basic human rights of the peasantry? ...
Ok, maybe that was over the top, but the essential point still stands.

ETA: Whoops, looks like Julian's already responded to this. Solly.

Hi David from Texas

Not even the devil can "deconvert" Christians.
I agree - but I think it is his aim.

Have you not read the scriptures?
Read reasonably often, but not always understood. Here’s a good one: And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose [Romans 8:28]. Even though the devil works hard at frustrating things, all things he does will work together for the good of those who are with God.

Check your head for horns and see if you are wearing red. Seriously though, the devil is devious and deceptive, don’t expect to notice him so easily.

Seriously though, the devil is all in your head. The real question is, what's so bad about being deconverted?

It might be nice if you provided the context for that comment, that is the thread in which you distorted actual scholars views to support your unfounded beliefs. That's why I'm done with you.

Get a clue: Why would I paste this here if I didn't want everyone to go over and read the other thread?

Hey everyone!

Go read the other thread!
