Default Chuckle-of-the-day: An apocalyptic list

I'm reading A History of the End of the World by Jonathan Kirsch, and I found a tidbit that I don't want to withhold from this forum, seeing how it illuminates the boundlessness of human invention. When talking about American apocalypsism (although I don't want to give the impression that we can only blame American culture for this), he gives the following interesting list:
Quote:
At one time or another, the elements of the "cosmic conspiracy to install the Antichrist" have been said to include bankers, biofeedback, credit cards, computers, the Council on Foreign Relations, feminism, Freudian psychology, the human-potential movement, Indian gurus, "international Jews," lesbianism, the Masons, Montessori schools, secular humanism, the Trilateral Commission, Universal Product Codes, and the United Nations--and the list is certainly not comprehensive.
For the footnote-minded, he attributes this to Dave Hunt, The New Age Movement in Prophecy, quoted in Boyer, When Time Shall Be (or via: amazon.co.uk), 233-23 ("a cosmic conspiracy to install the Antichrist"). (Kirsch is a journalist I think, so quoted quotes shouldn't be held against him.)

Anyway, I thought this might provide you with your chuckle of the day. Note that the author has conveniently alphabetized the list, so it is easy to see if your favorite sin is in there. I guess IIDB is covered by "secular humanism," although I would say that it should merit an entry of its own. If anyone has ideas for the extension of this list, let them rip!

I've met people on internet forums who espoused several of those positions together!

Someone bombed Yahoo! Answers with a load of stuff about 9/11 conspiracy theories (in order to get hits for his conspiracy website), and when you went to his site, not only did he believe in 9/11 CTs, and the NWO conspiracy to take over the world, but he was a dispensationalist, too! He had whole pages about why the rapture hadn't happened yet!!

And may I say, I'm sorry, I won't hear a word against lesbianism!!

I'm just stunned the ACLU didn't make the list!

Blasphemy--the author neglected to mention shapeshifting reptilian politicians (that is, politicians in high positions of power who can shapeshift between reptile and human at will).

Oh, and why is this thread in this forum?

Because putting things onto the list is based on a critical reading of the scriptures!
