Question Mary gave birth to Jesus at age 10??

I read in a Christian encyclopedia that Mary gave birth to Jesus at age ten. Is this true?? WTF???!

How can God look for a mother who is age 10???

No, the Christian encyclopedia is wrong. Mary was the exact same age as Jesus.

According to the Catholic Encyclopedia, Mary gave birth to Jesu when she was about thirteen or fourteen years of age.

This is speculation based on the usual ages for marriage in that culture. Young women typically were married off when they reached puberty, about age 13.

This is interesting. Does this mean that Jesus was conceived before Mary reached puberty and without sexual contact?

If true, then Jesus was really the son of a ghost.

So far we have no support for the idea that Mary got pregnant at age 10.

Or in the last post.

There is no support for Mary at all, pregnant, 10 years old, mother, or husband of anyone.

Isn't it referring to the Talmudic tradition about "Yeshu Ben Pandera"?

Would that not count as some (albeit very weak) support?

Um, unless Mary was giving birth to jesus as she herself popped out of her mum, Mary was never the same age as Jesus.

Unless you want to say that mary was the same age when she gave birth to Jesus that jesus was at some point of his life.

However, you didn't specify that point. So, since Jesus was 28 years old at one point (if he existed), and I am currently 28 years old, I am slo the same age as Jesus.

But this is ridiculous anyway. if we say that Billy is the same age as jenny, then we take it to mean that Billy's age now is the same as Jenny's age now.
