Idem a. ad taurum praefectum praetorio. evectiones ab omnibus postulentur, quacumque conspicui fuerint dignitate; non enim debet esse umquam efficax usurpatio, quae possit animalibus publici cursus inferre perniciem. quod si quis putaverit resistendum et sine evectione iter facere detegitur, ubi repertus fuerit, eundem iussimus detineri ac de eius nomine ad prudentiam tuam et ad musonium clarissimum virum comitem et magistrum officiorum referri. Can anyone translate for me? It is needed within the next couple of days if at all possible.

I can give you a fairly rough translation if that would suffice. It has been over 25 years since I used Latin on a regular basis.

Again from. to the Taurus commander of the magistrate. authorizations (specifically travel passes for diplomats under Constantine) would be demanded from all. whoever conspicuously would be a dignitary; certainly he is not obliged at any time to make use of efficency, which could bring disaster to the animals of "public concern" (or perhaps - official courier). because if he is uncovered who would have thought to resist and without authorization to make a trip, where it will be discovered, we have ordered the same to be detained, and also from (literally, but perhaps better rendered - take down) his name at your discretion and escort him back to the most illustrious man and official magistrate Musonius.


We establish only a thousand pounds to be placed upon a carriage, two hundred "bicycles" (some sort of cart?), thirty fast hunting horses, certainly they do not seem to permit wide burdens

Eight mules are offered up for a carriage to pass the summer "that is to say" (basically our "viz") time, ten winters; we declare threefold "bicycles" to be sufficient, and for this all countries alloted to care we command impending punishment to them. date eight kalens julius Mediolano Constantine 9 and ...

The translation is rather literal, but I hope it helps.
