My understanding is that no prophecy concerning Israel will be close to being complete until the Next Jewish Temple is built. According to Christian Theology, or mythology if you prefer, we are living in the time of the gentiles. The sign that Israel is back in the Holy Land is just one sign, out of many, that a Jewish temple will soon be rebuilt after the last one was destroyed by the Romans in 70 A.D.

Found that red heifer yet?

But according to 2 Samuel 7:10, and based upon the current conditions in the Middle East, and based upon the probable future conditions in the Middle East, the Jewish Temple will never be rebuilt. In the NASB, 2 Samuel 7:10 says "I will fix a place for my people Israel; I will plant them so that they may dwell in their place without further disturbance. Neither shall the wicked continue to afflict them as they did of old." The Partition of Palestine most certainly did not fulfill that prophecy, and it never will since the Jews are surrounded by hostile neighbors, not to mention terrorists who live in Israel, and some Muslim countries that are developing nuclear weapons. Since 2 Samuel 7:10 can never be fulfilled in this life, and since it refers to this life, that is a false prophecy.

If God wanted to deliver the Jews from captivity by the Egyptians, why did he sometimes injure and kill some of them with plagues and storms?

That is easily explained by the facts that the partition of Palestine is a self-fulfilled prophecy, and that the Middle East has the largest oil reserves in the world. If the Arab-Israel conflict was happening in the middle of a remote Australian desert that had few natural resources, most nations would not care about the conflict.

It proves that the bible is true because Jews, Israelis, the children of Abraham, came to Israel (Israel continued to exist even after the Romans kicked them out the land). Right now there exists a State of Palestine that doesn't have any land so the State of Israel continued to exist even though it didn't have any land either. In any event it was a either a fulfillment of Ezekiel 28, a self- fulfilled prophecy, or a prophecy written after the fact. You decide. Either way The State of Israel exists.
Quote:
'No longer will the people of Israel have malicious neighbors who are painful briers and sharp thorns. Then they will know that I am the Sovereign LORD.
25 " 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: When I gather the people of Israel from the nations where they have been scattered, I will show myself holy among them in the sight of the nations. Then they will live in their own land, which I gave to my servant Jacob. 26 They will live there in safety and will build houses and plant vineyards; they will live in safety when I inflict punishment on all their neighbors who maligned them. Then they will know that I am the LORD their God.' "
Question: Were the Jews scattered to the nation?
Answer: Yes
Question: Are the Jews returning from the nations to Israel?
Answer: Yes
Question: Are the Jews living in safety in Israel?
Answer: No
Question: Is Ezekiel 28 a prophecy that guarantees Israel will always live in the land.
Answer: Yes
Question: Has Israel always lived in the land in safety permanently?
Answer: No
Question: Is Ezekiel is a prophecy,ie, an event that will occur in the future?
Answer:??????

No, it didn't.

Wrong. You must have never heard of Gaza.

so the State of Israel continued to exist even though it didn't have any land either.
Faulty logic.

No one disputes that Israel exists.
What you have yet to show is that it is a fulfillment of any prophecy.

You were given an easy three-step process on how to do that. Why do you resist doing the necessary homework to prove your point?

Is it because you fear that once you get into the study of hte material, you may find that it's not very convincing? And you know better than to start studying, because once you open that box, you can never shut it again?

Arnoldo, why do you keep ignoring the historical context in which the books of the Bible were written?

Ezekiel was written during the time of Nebuchadnezzar (and possibly edited since). And Nebby was reasponsible for...

...wait for it...

...the BABYLONIAN EXILE.

This is a "prophecy" of the return from exile, and it falsely claims that the people of Israel will be safe thereafter.

Do you have any historical proof of such editing? Is so why wasn't Alexander *edited* into the Book of Ezekiel?

Highly questionable, considering:

1. your link talks about a piece of archaeology related to Jeremiah, not Ezekiel;

2. getting the name of a Babylonian official correct is not the same thing as proving prophetic ability
