Default Nazareth and gospel

hello all

why the evangelists speak about Nazaret if they knew that this city did not exist at the first century ?

Perhaps they did not know that the city did not exist.

Perhaps they did not care if the city existed or not.

Perhaps the city did exist in some form.

yes toto have can say that if the city is a legend, the characters also are legendary ?
