Four Gospels
First of all as a newcomer here sorry if this has been dealt with before .
I have read a few comments here from people who believe that the New Testament was written as a result of "divine inspiration" acting upon the authors of the four Gospels. Well something has puzzled me about this for some time IF these books are written due to this "divine inspiration " why exactly did God feel the need to "inspire" the same story FOUR times (with some subtle differences and spread over such a period of time ) ? Was the first Gospel to be "inspired" merely God's first draft and subsequent versions the edited edition ? |

Or in the case of GJohn, not so subtle differences.
Yeah, good point and one that apologists have no adequate answer for. It is unprededented in the Bible with the exception of Kings/Chronicles and that is only 2 times, not four. Also, the Jews had the sense to move Chronicles to "Writings" rather than to the Prophetic section with Kings (rather than the xian bible which places them back to back). UMoC |
