Default Too easy? [Scripture to answer Does God burn or annihilate His children?]

Quote:
I don't think the focus of the Bible is our After-life, its our earthly life. God loves each and every one of us more then any parent loves their children and will not abandon anyone at death.

His judgments in this life are sometimes harsh, like Israels 70 AD destruction, but always done for a greater cause.

The day that I believe God burns or annihilates His children is the day I burn my Bible.
Someone help me out here. What's the best single verse?

I'm not entirely certain what you are asking for, but I assume that you want a verse which teaches that God "burns or annihilates His children." Have a look at Malachi 4:1-3 which I quote below. Of course, the author of your quote might argue that the wicked aren't God's "children."

Quote:
4:1 See, the day is coming, burning like an oven, when all the arrogant and all evildoers will be stubble; the day that comes shall burn them up, says Yahweh of hosts, so that it will leave them neither root nor branch. 2 But for you who revere my name the sun of righteousness shall rise, with healing in its wings. You shall go out leaping like calves from the stall. 3 And you shall tread down the wicked, for they will be ashes under the soles of your feet, on the day when I act, says Yahweh of hosts.

Transform'er, I can think of two areas that can cause issues. However, any example has standard apologetic double speak to shelter a set mind. One is Harod's order to kill all the infants of Bethlehem. Everything about Jesus' life had to be part of God's greater plan, so this God let this play out with the purported deaths of all the toddlers of Bethlehem. The second thing is the curse upon all the first born of Egypt, to force the Pharaoh to let the Hebrews go. You will quickly hear about how bad the Egyptians were as some sort of acceptable reason though.
