Default Is there any way to reasonably verify Genesis 1:1?

If intelligent design is a reasonable possibility, by what criteria can we reasonably estalish which being created the universe?

No.
If there isn't, Bible apologetics just flew right out of the window since the authority of the Bible depends entirely upon Genesis 1:1. If the God of the Bible did not create the universe, then even if he is powerful, he cannot credibly establish any reasonable bases for making up all of the rules. In other words, his judgments would simply be his own personal opinions among the opinions of many other possible powerful extra-terrestrial beings.

The statement God created Earth is an affirmation. It provides information to be accepted or rejected.

This statement may have originated in the mind of a person that in the antiquity had finished building something laborious and wondered what could have built the big world around him. That night he may have dreamt God made the world and truly believed it to be true the following morning.

He communicated this information to others. One group said yes I was wondering about that myself. Group two-said No, how could I verify this?

What does verification mean in this case? The existence of the world is in no need of confirmation; obviously it is the identity of the builder (God according to this man) that needs confirming.

So far he has said God-Creator has built this but the word God by itself does not provide any knowledge we can use, it is only when we begin to explain God to ourselves that God can exist in our minds and our history.

What is this man going to do? He will hope to receive further communication from God and he may ask (pray?) for assistance in his struggle to convince his pals

Nothing more can be assumed at this point
