I remember reading 25 years ago that the Antichrist had already come to power:

Ronald (six letters)
Wilson (six letters)
Reagan (six letters)

But we survived him, and we survived the '80s.

I am aware of the many attempts to identify a large number of people as the antichrist by means of various numerical ways of adding their name into 666,
and I am aware of some saying that Reagan is or was the antichrist based on
his six lettered names. I cited the bushisantichrist website somewhat for fun
and I don't know Hebrew well enough to evaluate the way this fellow adds up the letters in the name george bush. The same fellow has a large section on how Nostradamus supposedly prophecied of Bush as antichrist. I am not sure that there will be a single antichrist; at least, I am fairly sure that there won't be one who will do what the Tim LaHaye rapture crowd says he will do.

I actually voted by Bush in 2000.

Bush's actions re the environment, re appointing federal judges and his administration's lying about Iraq's WMD make me hope that Bush is the high-point of the rule of the religious right in the US. I actually hope that the US suffers one or a series of serious setbacks so that in 2006, in 2008 and beyond, the population does not vote to blindly. China, Japan or South Korea deciding they don't want many more of the US $ in their central banks might do it.

I hope and pray for a renaissance of religious liberalism in the USA.
