Well tsk, tsk.

Have you not read the scriptures?
Your claims are not based on any scripture. You are making false claims and perverting scriptures by doing so.

Taking people into slavery was a frequent event in the ancient past. However, you misundertsand if you think the whole population was taken: it was usually the ruling class.

Persisting in your ignorance about a "Phoenician capital" doesn't help your case.

As to where Tyre was after Alexander, you've been told that twenty years later Antigonus Monophthalmus besieged Tyre, so obviously Tyre was again a going concern.

Today Tyre has spread out inland from the original settlement which Alexander linked to the mainland through a mole. Sedimentation around the mole has built up and made a wide strip of land and Tyre is flourishing.

Kudos everyone.

1 In the eleventh year, on the first day of the month, the word of the LORD came to me: 2 "Son of man, because Tyre has said of Jerusalem, 'Aha! The gate to the nations is broken, and its doors have swung open to me; now that she lies in ruins I will prosper,'
Nebby destroy Jerusalem: Historical fact.

Quote:
3 therefore this is what the Sovereign LORD says: I am against you, O Tyre, and I will bring many nations against you, like the sea casting up its waves. 4 They will destroy the walls of Tyre and pull down her towers; I will scrape away her rubble and make her a bare rock. 5 Out in the sea she will become a place to spread fishnets, for I have spoken, declares the Sovereign LORD. She will become plunder for the nations, 6 and her settlements on the mainland will be ravaged by the sword. Then they will know that I am the LORD.
Historical fact. Nebby attack mainland tyre 13 years. Check Josephus.

Quote:
7 "For this is what the Sovereign LORD says: From the north I am going to bring against Tyre Nebuchadnezzar [a] king of Babylon, king of kings, with horses and chariots, with horsemen and a great army. 8 He will ravage your settlements on the mainland with the sword; he will set up siege works against you, build a ramp up to your walls and raise his shields against you. 9 He will direct the blows of his battering rams against your walls and demolish your towers with his weapons. 10 His horses will be so many that they will cover you with dust. Your walls will tremble at the noise of the war horses, wagons and chariots when he enters your gates as men enter a city whose walls have been broken through. 11 The hoofs of his horses will trample all your streets; he will kill your people with the sword, and your strong pillars will fall to the ground. 12
Nebby destroys mainlaind tyre. Historical fact.

Quote:
They will plunder your wealth and loot your merchandise; they will break down your walls and demolish your fine houses and throw your stones, timber and rubble into the sea. 13 I will put an end to your noisy songs, and the music of your harps will be heard no more. 14 I will make you a bare rock, and you will become a place to spread fishnets. You will never be rebuilt, for I the LORD have spoken, declares the Sovereign LORD.
Alexander the Great throws mainland tyre into the sea. historical fact.
Quote:
15 "This is what the Sovereign LORD says to Tyre: Will not the coastlands tremble at the sound of your fall, when the wounded groan and the slaughter takes place in you? 16 Then all the princes of the coast will step down from their thrones and lay aside their robes and take off their embroidered garments. Clothed with terror, they will sit on the ground, trembling every moment, appalled at you. 17 Then they will take up a lament concerning you and say to you:
" 'How you are destroyed, O city of renown,
peopled by men of the sea!
You were a power on the seas,
you and your citizens;
you put your terror
on all who lived there.

18 Now the coastlands tremble
on the day of your fall;
the islands in the sea
are terrified at your collapse.'

19 "This is what the Sovereign LORD says: When I make you a desolate city, like cities no longer inhabited, and when I bring the ocean depths over you and its vast waters cover you, 20 then I will bring you down with those who go down to the pit, to the people of long ago. I will make you dwell in the earth below, as in ancient ruins, with those who go down to the pit, and you will not return or take your place [b] in the land of the living. 21 I will bring you to a horrible end and you will be no more. You will be sought, but you will never again be found, declares the Sovereign LORD."
Tyre gloated that Nebby destroyed Jerusalem. Result? Tyre was attacked by Nebby and Alexander the Great. The city was thrown into the sea

Wrong. He reached it with ships.
So Alexander the Great had a navy?

Nebby DID NOT, nor did Josephus say he did, attack the mainland for 13 years. But Ezekiel doesn't even agree with you. The very first verses in the chapter say Neb will attack "TYRE AND HER DAUGHTERS ON THE MAINLAND". Ezekiel NEVER equates 'Tyre' with 'mainland', he's very consistent on that distinction.

However, if I'm wrong on this point, please post the relevant quote from Josephus that says Nebby spent 13 year attacking the mainland, and never bothered with the island.

Arnoldo: declaring falsehoods to be "historical fact" doesn't change actual falsehoods into actual facts.

Nope, falsehood. The mainland settlements weren't "mainland Tyre". Tyre was on the island.

Again, falsehood. Alex threw the mainland settlements into the sea, to REACH Tyre.

False. The city of Tyre remained on its island. Though badly damaged, it was rebuilt.

Incidentally, is it still your position that the people who completely rebuilt Tyre and then fought Antigonus 18 years later were actually time-travelling Muslims from the far future?

Actually, I guess the time-travelling Muslims could also explain the hypothetical 13-year survival of "mainland Tyre" against Nebby, if they went back a bit further. Presumably they had automatic weapons? Or maybe ray-guns, as presumably firearms would run out of ammo pretty soon. If they had a small nuclear reactor, that could recharge their ray-guns for 13 years before it eventually ran out of uranium/plutonium.

It's not that you have any intrinsic reading disabilities. It's that you are wilfully blind when it comes to your faith. Your recourse to Ezek 26 has not been given any validity.

You're joking. Mainland Tyre, as has already been seen (you remember Tyre and Ushu), is a misnomer that allows you to cling to your religiously biased errors.

You know that you are spreading fallacious material. Tyre and Ushu. Two separate entities. You are trying to claim that by taking out a Tyrian possession means fulfilling a prophecy about Tyre.

Mainland Tyre. Oh, the hypocrisy....

Note, the Hebrew word for "coastland" [)Y] is also used to mean "island" (Isa 11:11, 24:15 -- some translations use "coastlands", but that's unconvincing). Shores of seas and rivers is usually GBWL.

Whatever the case, that "the )YYM shall tremble on your (Tyre's) downfall" indicates that Tyre isn't included among those who tremble because Tyre is supposed to have been what they were trembling about. The reference to )YYM is irrelevant.

Do you seriously believe this frivolous claim. I mean in all honesty do you? This seems to be a license for "you laughed at me, so my god's gonna blow you away". What a morally bankrupt sick little mindset.

So why did Tyre get attacked by Esarhaddon and Ashurbanipal? Get real, kiddy. Tyre was always a lucrative catch. it was always going to attract the interest of big powers because it was a good supply of finance. And Tyre usually coughed up the goods once squeezed enough.

Tyre as has been established was the island, as distinguished from the coastal city of Ushu. If you want to play a word game and call Ushu "mainland Tyre" in order to fulfill a prophecy, that might satisfy your religious commitments, but it won't satisfy any desire for the truth you may have.

Not to mention a 13 year siege is a pretty damn poor failure in anyones book. 13 years? after 13 years you pretty much call it home and settle in. No army sits for 13 years unless its just for show. It would of bankrupted Nebby no way he could of paid his regulars let alone the mercenarys which made up most of the worlds armies back then and without riches and plunder they didnt hang around long.
