Default Doubling stories, inside the Bible and out

A well-known phenomenon in mythology is where at times, one story gets retold with different characters. There's a good example of this in the Biblical story of Sodom - which gets partially retold in Judges 19. An argument could also be made for Jesus' feedings of thousands of people and a smaller scale miracle like that performed by Elijah. Is there a technical name for this phenomenon? Are there any classic examples outside the Bible?

:bulb: I think that the term you are after is "type-scene."
