Default Splitting of the Moon

Muhammad is said to have split the moon in two. If that really happened, there would have been global coastline flooding and tidal chaos. That event would have left an unmistakable signature on earth.

To all Muslims - Please show the signature left by this event.

Thanks.

Only if the two halves were separated by a significant distance.

We're talking one half of the moon on one side of a mountain, and one half on the other side. At least, that's the myth.

yup, that's a small distance.

mountains are not that wide...atleast relative to the moon's diameter.

Looking at the moon from earth, as the story goes, the people supposedly saw one half of the moon on one side of a mountain, and the other half on the other side of the mountain. Knowing the distance from earth to the moon is 238,854 miles, what was the actual distance the moon split apart, how long before the halves reached maximum distance from each other, and how quickly it merged with the other half? These are starter questions to get us thinking critically on this topic. The magnetic and gravitational forces would definitely have been effected, at some level. If the myth is true, you should be able to find predictable evidence.

Besides, if the moon was split in two one would think the Chinese would have mentioned it somewhere. They were pretty good at looking at the sky and writting down what they saw. Hard to imagine they missed that one.

Are there any lunar landscape images which show a geologic pattern consistent with it being split in half?

Why not claim it was a huge difference, you have the same evidence for both.

Its a function on how close one is to the mountain. For the moon to be split so each half appears on both sides of my thumb at arms length would be a distance greater than the diameter of the moon.

Not really consonant with General Religious Discussion, so off to BC&H you go, little guy.

This topic really has nothing to do with the Bible or Christianity. Why is it here?
