We got the Mary-Jesus/Isis/Horus iconography. The cross one is blatantly ridiculous, considering that the cross was used by the Romans, and invoking Occam negates any of the far-fetched claims that Christianity got this cross from elsewhere.

The good shepherd iconography has nothing to do with the sun at all. I'd like to see support for the first one, not that it matters because the XP is a later anyway. The fish symbolism certainly is a bit fishy - nor is it related to the sun.

What we have here is a severe conflation of ancient thought, something that even the most primitive ancients would raise their eyebrows at, and a retrojection of later Christian practices onto the earliest forms of Christianity, as if it affects the story in any way.

Nonsense.

So, people were using the sun cross as a symbol before Christianity. When Christianity came about, their symbol became a cross with no circle around it. What's the big deal?

Does it necessarily mean they copied from the sun cross? No, not at all.

All it means is that the cross was around before Jesus.

Indeed it was, but was it a Christian symbol prior to Constantine?

Is there anyone objecting to notion that Jesus got merged with Sol Invictus, the two deities favored by Constantine? I think that if Sol Invictus is trated as "sun god" (not really sure about that, i seriously lack supported info about sol invictus),then we can say Jesus was equated to Sun in 5th+ century, as continuation of sol invictus cult.

Yes, as seen on inscriptions dating to the first century by Sukenik.

....are you referring to the "Jesus tomb", or something else?

What Jesus tomb? The Talpiot tomb? No. Did it even have crosses in there?
