Default Off topic questions split from Richard Carrier has an offer

I have a question. If you guys are so sure that Jesus never existed, why is everyone in this thread foaming at the mouth to get the newest book on 'The Jesus myth'. You guys are sure Jesus is a myth and didn't exist so why do you desperatly need another book to confirm this?
I guess one would imply that you need another book just to 'reassure' yourselves?
Just wondering.

...probably because we're not so sure. Also, if you've read through the thread, it is not a forgone conclusion that the book would indicate a mythical Jesus. The two most likely outcomes are : "Jesus was a fictional character in an allegorical fiction" and "...well, who knows if Jesus existed". I doubt Carrier would wind up with an MJ book.

No one is sure. I don't think anyone here would have their non-belief challenged by the existence or non-existence of a historical Jesus, but the question would be of interest in understanding the origins of Christianity.

Are you speaking for everyone? or just you? is everyone in this thread 'on the fence'? sorry for the assumption, but the reason why i asked was because I was assuming.

Sorry for a link to several links, but I couldn't quote it. Within the link are references to several polls here on peoples view of the historocity of Jesus.

I didn't ask for that but thanks for answering a question I didn't ask! I just wanted to know the answer to my initial question!

Your initial question appeared to be rhetorical, and to be based on errors of fact.

This is a society that operates on money. But if you really want money, atheism is not the most lucrative stance.

If it was rhetorical then why was it answered, and why did I answer it back. Isn't that why people ask questions? beacuse they have errors of fact.
