References To Mediums In The Bible
Hi
I am currently researching for an article about mediums and have most often found they make references to God and working with God etc but my understanding of the bible is that there are many verses stating God's warnings about visiting, listening to, mediums soothsayers etc... no I'm not a believer by the way :devil1: I've looked up a few of these but as I'm not a believer I'm confused as to the version most used to convey the meanings of these biblical texts For example: Leviticus 19:31 in the New International Bible Quote:

The King James Version still holds the honor of being the most published, if you wish to gauge "popularity" simply on total numbers of copies produced.
But for a long time now, most of these KJV Bibles are purchased and given out as "gifts", with the reality that the majority of these KJVs just end up gathering dust on the shelf, or 'safely' tucked away as 'mementos'. Most serious students of the Bible, who purchase their own Bibles, for actual study, and for use, have willingly moved on to the easier to read and quote NIV, so that their conversation, and quotations of text are in modern English, and do not come off sounding affected and archaic. If you are trying to reach an audience that actually studies their Bibles then the NIV would be the better choice, however there are those KJV onliest who will not tolerate the least variation from their favorite texts. Its The BIBLE! for Gods sake! In other words you will never find a Version that pleases everyone. |

The Witch of Endor is surely the most famous example, which has left a lasting memorial in our literary heritage, including The face in the frost.
