"Jesus the liar" on Crosstalk
Greetings, friends,
Now and then I check the discussions on Crosstalk2 list, this home of washed out ideas and circular argument, where I used to participate years ago... Occasionally, it's good for a few laughs. It's a crew that seems to be immune to any new ideas. So now I see that they've been preoccupied with a discussion of "lying and deception"... How appropriate. And, in the process, the Big Lie about Jesus being a liar, based on the Hortian text of Jn 7:8, is still being recycled once again for the benefit of the gullible. [quote] From: Loren Rosson <rossoiii@y...> Date: Sat Feb 19, 2005 Subject: Lying and deception http://groups.yahoo.com/group/crosstalk2/message/18296 Jesus lied about his travel plans, saying that he wasn't going to the Jerusalem festival (Jn 7:8) yet doing exactly that as soon as his relatives departed (Jn 7:10). [unquote] But the real story is quite different, Did Jesus Tell a Lie? (John 7:8) http://www.trends.ca/~yuku/bbl/jn7jes.htm You know how they say about the scholars often remaking Jesus in their own image? Well, it seems like our own dishonest NT scholars have now remade Jesus to be just like them... Cheers, Yuri. |
