Actually, it was entirely your dad's decision. You would've remained "whole" had it been up to me.

Oh, wait, you're not my kid!

Most circumcision for males and females is not religious (in most of the world anyway, Jews excluded) but cultural and illogical sociological reasons. It gained popularity in the Victorian England era as a way to (supposedly) prevent young boys masturbating, and to desensitise the penis (which was thought to cause everything from epilepsy to tuberculosis ). It's got no physical grounding, as the foreskin helps keep the penis clean as well as more sensitive and pleasureable. People who say "oh, it circumcision helps keep it clean" are idiots. Removing the foreskin to keep the penis clean makes about as much sense as removing the eyelid to keep the eyeball cleaner. Same with female circumcison/mutilation *shudders*.

(I'd just like to say thank you to Dr Karl Kruszelnicki and his informative and entertaining colum in the SMH's Good Weekend Mag. They featured this issue about 2 weeks ago).

Default bloody bridegroom

that was just zipporah getting rid of her penis envy / menstrual disgust.

are jewesses more emancipated psychologically? feeling equal with men on some genital plane may have something to do with it.

How can Jewesses feel more equal with men? I don't understand. Do Jewesses get their clitoral hoods clipped at birth as well?

The equality would come from the bleeding, according to the menstruation envy theorists. But this is getting beyond the topic, which I think has been exhausted (hint - mods - please close this.)

Wasn't it his ear, and I think it was because he got sick from his paints.
That's the information I have in my brain....

I couldn't find any real direct statements. So with Dr. google in hand I went out and did some searching. It seems like the religious origin was to keep me from having fun during sex, as the foreskin is just packed with nerve endings. I did see that for some years it was thought this might have health benefits, but these have not been substantiated in recent literature.

After looking at the internet stuff I do see how some of the biblical statements could be using it as such in metaphors - colossians for example: "In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:"

Whether true or not in intent - the effect of circumcision is indeed to reduce pleasure from what I have read. So - thanks a lot Mom...
Oh, for Christ's sake if I hear this BS any more I will puke.

I've refuted these circumcision fallacies before, this is such a bunch of bunk. There is NO PROOF that circumcision reduces pleasure, almost all the anti-circ stuff is promoted by wackos with psychological problems and sexual dysfunctions.

Please don't buy into this garbage. In fact the last study I saw of men who were circumcised as adults the majority reported that they liked it better then being uncircumcised. I've wasted way too much time on this topic in the past though so I'm to doing it again

Its pure idiocy if you ask me.
