Default Was there killing before Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit?

Ken Ham, the head of Answers in Genesis Ministries, is a young earther, and he claims that dinosaurs did not predate Adam and Eve. He also claims that before Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit, all animals were vegetarians, which of course would include polar bears, killer whales and great white sharks with the exact same kinds of teeth that they have today.

Ham has more than just the obvious problems to deal with here. He will likely claim that before Adam and Eve sinned, they couldn't have died accidental deaths. However, will he claim that no animals died accidental deaths before Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit? I will try to find out.

I think that there's a population control and food supply argument here. If no animals were meant to be carnivorous, then they would soon overwhelm the earth by sheer numbers. Similarly, if all animals were herbivorous they would soon exhuast the food supply. However I suspect explaining this to a creationist is a waste of time. There's always the "god can do anything" fail-safe reply.

I'm a creationist, though not a YEC. It's best to be precise when one picks up the pen, pharoah.

The OP is asking something that can only be speculated about. I am sure there was physical death before A&E "ate the forbidden fruit." But then, I'm not so sure A&E were homo sapiens, properly speaking.

Quite: they are mythological characters . But assuming they did exist, what species would they be?

Doesn't this belong in E/C?

Yes, it probably belongs in E/C. I was waiting for it to develop some substance, but we'll just ship it now.

Don't you know? There also was no sex before the fall. Sex is bad, BAD, BAD!!!

*calming down*

Oh, and there also was no food. A pile of shit certainly would have spoiled the beauty of Eden.

:rolling:

Seriously: One simply can not take bullshit like this seriously in any way.
So I think Toto will wait in vain for "some substance".

Then I'm afraid you're doing it wrong.
