Lewis was so ignorant of Christian theology that he didn't even know that Christians claim Jesus descended into Hell.

How then can Hell be a separation from God, when God can easily go to Hell, and supposedly has done so in the past, and may well do so again?

Would that be until they die their second death like the rest of us?

The netherworld is not hell until it becomes the antagonist because this same netherworld is heaven when it becomes the protagonist. The difference between heaven and hell depends on which side of the 'fence' we are on. So it is wrong to say that Jesus descended into hell proper because resurrection followed this descend.
